Roman leads the Kreditano editorial team. He entered Romanian banking in 2007, right before NBR monetary policy reset under the pressure of the financial crisis. His first 9 years were at BCR, as a consumer-credit risk analyst. There he learned how internal scoring is built and how an NBR rule translates into a concrete credit-line calculation. He moved on to ING Bank as a product manager for personal loans, where he coordinated the launch of a fixed-APR product and rewrote contract paperwork after ANPC sanctioned an insufficiently disclosed fee. Bachelor's and master's in Banking & Finance from ASE Bucharest (2005, 2008) and CFA Charterholder after three consecutive years of exams.

On Kreditano he writes about how APR, nominal interest, the analysis fee and mandatory insurance combine into the real cost of a loan. The detail he most enjoys explaining: two loans at the same nominal rate can have an APR that differs by more than a percentage point, just because one carries a monthly admin fee. Per OUG 50/2010, the lender must show both figures in the SECCI standard sheet, yet most users still look only at the monthly payment.

His 2014 lesson became an internal editorial reference: a client with stable income refused a better offer because he could not understand why the APR was higher than the nominal interest. "The opportunity cost of a bad explanation is a wrong financial decision for 5 years," Roman says. "That's what I remember every time I write about APR." His articles on Kreditano are reviewed by Bogdan Baicu for the refinancing topic and by Maria Popescu for credit cards.
